2011 Princess Run!!!!

Hey, all you Funky Monkey Fiends out there!

It's time for our annual Princess Run sponsored by us here at FM.

???What's a Princess Run??

.... you might ask. Although it may sound like something you'd see on Saks Fifth Avenue during a black Friday sale...it's actually a one-mile run/walk/stroll event designed to encourage fitness and healthy living for girls 12 and under.

Sounds invigorating, right? 

 Not only does it get the youth in our community up and moving their way to a healthy heart and body, but the proceeds from the Princess Run will also benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Oklahoma!!http://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org/all_page?item_id=12486

This year's event will also feature The Little Dude Dash, a 50yd run for boys 12 and under.



Registration is officially open for the 2011 Princess Run! Last year’s event SOLD OUT and we were overwhelmed with positive response!! The rumor mill tells me that several people were left out because there weren't enough resources to go around!! Too Many People!?!?! Never!!!!!  :-)

Registration is $20 until March 1st,2011, then the fee goes up to $25. All registered princesses will receive a t-shirt and backpack.....psst....there's also cupcakes involved from Pinkitzel Cupcakes & Candy http://www.pinkitzel.com/

We’ve added a whole new event this year – the Little Dude Dash! With so many brothers and friends who came to cheer on the princesses last year, there were many requests for us to come up with a way for the boys to be involved. Registration for the Little Dude Dash will be $10 until March 1st, then the fee goes up to $15. All registered dudes will receive a t-shirt....and maybe if they're really lucky, a cupcake!!

The event will kick-off at 2:00pm with the Princess Run for girls 12 and under and once all girls have made it across the finish line we will line up the boys registered for The Little Dude Dash for a 50yd run.

On a super personal note**** I hope to see all the Funky Monkey fans out there at this event. It's for a great cause and no one....and I mean NO ONE...deserves great things and positive wishes more than the children and their families who suffer from these terrible diseases. To leave you with some positive news: statistics show that the chances of recovery for children who suffer from leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma has greatly increased since 1998. We're winning, folks! Keep up the good fight!!!
